Counselling When You Need It

At Phoenix we know how long it can take someone to access counselling and the courage it takes to pick up the phone or send an email to tell someone you not coping, or you feel like you losing your mind.

On average a person will need to wait up to 6 months before getting help through the NHS counselling services, at Phoenix we offer counselling within 7 days, we are able to offer face to face to sessions and online counselling. We are aware with the ever-changing picture of tiers and lock down Phoenix offers a blended approach for our clients who may need to self-isolate at short notice or in response to government guidelines changes

The NHS services have a strict referral procedure and sadly a number of people whose emotional and mental health will not be eligible and are not offering face to face session at the moment.

At Phoenix we have no such restriction and welcome everyone to our services, no matter your postcode.

Phoenix Therapy Centre is open to offer face to face and online counselling to adults, children, parents, and couples. Our centre operates strict covid-19 policies to protect us all. For the first time in our 20 years of serving the community we are remaining open over the Christmas and New Year period (apart from Christmas and Boxing Day) to provide our existing clients and to welcome news clients who are needing a listening ear over this period of time.

What do we mean by affordable counselling?

Phoenix is a purely self-funding service, so we have to find a balance to providing an affordable service and you having to make a decision of choosing to access counselling over your own emotional and mental wellbeing.

Phoenix is commitment to ensuring that counselling is accessible to all and not dependent on a person’s ability to pay. As part of our response to COVID-19 and its devastating impact we have simplified our fees.

Supported Fee – this is available to those on benefits, or are earning less than £14,000, or loss their or family income to COVID-19.

Fees otherwise is offered on a sliding scale of £35 to £20

Phoenix has a limited number of no fee places for those in extreme financial distress or genuine do not have access to funds, so please do still call us we will always try to find a solution.

Phoenix is a self-funding service; our core mission is to ensure that anyone wishing to have counselling can access affordable and accessible counselling at the time of need and have been serving the community for 20 years.

Phoenix was established as a Community Interest Company which means that all income and fundraising earned must be used for the benefit of its services.  All our fees and fundraising income are assets which locked into the organisation, to be used solely for the benefit of our clients.

All Phoenix is supported by a team of 80 counsellors who all have individual professional indemnity insurance and will be members of their own professional organisations such the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), National Counselling Society (NCS) or United Kingdom Council of Psychotherapists (UKCP).
