Phoenix receives no Government funding with which to provide our services and we must therefore charge a fee. However, our mission is to provide an accessible, affordable counselling service for the whole community, which is why we offer a sliding scale fee structure. The aim of the sliding scale is to make our counselling available to everyone, regardless of income.
The sliding scale is there to act as a guide in order to agree a payment for each counselling session. The fee will be discussed at your initial meeting (which is free) and agreed before starting regular counselling sessions.
Please note that your fee payment is a vital contribution to providing our service, enabling us to continue to provide low-fee, accessible counselling and psychotherapy. We ask therefore that you give careful consideration to what you can genuinely afford before attending your initial meeting.
Phoenix Counselling Fee Scale:
Individual Counselling: £30 – £18
Couples Counselling: £48 – £35
Family Counselling: £35 – £20
Children Counselling: £20 – £12
Bursary Fee Scale:
We also offer a bursary fee scale to those on recognised benefits, income under £14000, full time students under 24 years old and young people aged between 16 and 21 years as follows:
Individual Counselling: £12 – £8
Couples Counselling: £25 – £18
Family Counselling: £25 – £15
Children Counselling: £12 – £8
Please note the following:
- In order to keep our fees as low as possible, we require weekly payment, even if sessions are missed. The only exceptions are on bank holidays or if a therapist is unavailable.
- Once a fee is set it is still possible to review with your counsellor should your circumstances change during the course of your counselling sessions.
- The above fees apply with effect from the 1st June 2014 and are subject to review in June of each year.
- Fees are payable by cash, cheque or paypal.
