Below is a list of the questions that we are most frequently asked about our services. If the information you require is not shown below, please contact us. We look forward to hearing from you!

How do I make an appointment?

Simply call us on 0208 890 3133, or use our contact form. You can book an appointment between 10am and 3.30pm Monday to Friday.

Outside these hours please leave a message and your call will be returned the next day. Messages left on Friday will be returned the following Monday.

What will happen next?

You will be invited in for an initial meeting, which lasts for approximately thirty minutes.

This meeting will give you the opportunity to explore how counselling might be supportive of what you would like to change in your life.

There is no charge for this appointment.

How long will I have to wait?

When you call we aim to offer you an initial meeting within 7 days of your call and then allocate your first counselling appointment within ten days of the initial meeting.

Phoenix occasionally has a waiting list and you will be informed of its length at the time of your initial meeting.

How many sessions can I have?

Phoenix can offer short and long term counselling.  The number of sessions will depend on what you wish to access.

Why do I have to pay? My GP referred me

Phoenix is not funded by any NHS department to provide counselling to its patients. G.P’s can only suggest that you access our services as they believe that counselling may be a more supportive direction for you.

GPs recommend our services as we have a reputation to enable and empower clients to change and improve the quality of their lives, and know that we rarely have waiting lists.

Your GP will be aware, that counselling services provided by the NHS often have waiting lists of several months, and that some issues that you may wish to explore may not be available to NHS services.

If you would prefer not to pay for your counselling, please see your GP again and explore alternative options where payment is not required.
